Empress Elisabeth of Austria
The Lady Diana of the 19th century
New permanent exhibition
The new permanent exhibition at the Imperial Carriage Museum Vienna tells the story of Vienna’s imperial court, its ceremonies, its way of life, and its travels between 1700 and 1918, with a particular focus on Empress Elisabeth. Her fate is recreated and illustrated through her magnificent gowns and garments, her carriages and riding paraphernalia as well as personal effects never before put on display. The specially commissioned exhibition videos guide the visitor through Sisi’s life, highlighting the striking parallels between her and Diana, Princess of Wales, the People’s Princess of the 20th century.
Ferdinand Habsburg's “Art Car”
Furthermore, from 17 May onwards an exhibit that is both exceptional as well as state-of-the-art will be on show at the Imperial Carriage Museum: the “Art Car” for the young Formula 1 driver Ferdinand Habsburg, the son of Karl and Francesca Habsburg.
